DTLA FORWARD is a partnership with the City, community stakeholders, and strategic partners to achieve thriving and complete streets in Downtown LA. This transportation and planning initiative, launched by Councilmember Huizar, coordinates projects in the public realm.

1st & Broadway Park

First and Broadway Park, or FAB Park as it is known, will be the Civic Center’s next crown jewel. Located on the corner of 1st Street and Broadway next to City Hall, the site was originally the location of a state office building that was damaged in the 1992 earthquake. In XXXX, Councilmember Huizar allocated XXXX in Quimby funds to purchase the land and turn it into a park. In XXXX, the city demolished the old parking garage and leveled the site in preparation for the new park. In XXXX, Councilmember Huizar allocated an additional XXXX in Quimby for the design and construction of the new park. The city hosted a design competition to select a team to design the new park. The winning team, Mia Lehrer + Associates, proposed a design that focuses on sustainability, shade, and public gathering space. The new park will feature a restaurant, ample space for public art, and areas for the public to relax and get out of the Southern California heat.
