Although I grew up in Pasadena, both my relatives and my parents once lived in Boyle Heights and worked in the area. Over the years, my life too revolved in the greater Boyle Heights and El Sereno area as well.
Along the way, I also visited Little Tokyo quite frequently since I was a youth. But in the end with my strong ties with the folks of the great CD-14, the friends I often come to known as very warm and congenial always made me feel truly right at home!! We're indeed friends for life in Boyle Heights ad in El Sereno as well. In addition, with my friend with the Hollenbeck Community Police Station, that too has expanded my circle of friends for many more years, as I expand my role in "Community Relations'". In addition, I'm presently, a staff writer for the "Community Beacon" newspaper, I work to keep the folks of the Greater Northeast Los Angeles; including that of Boyle Heights and El Sereno apprised of all the news and events tha t matters the most in this close working class community on a very regular basis!! Council district # 14 is indeed like a second home to me always!! Thank you for your friendship along with all your memories as well!! Best Always!! Sincerely, Steven M. Wakimoto December 7, 2014.
